Football Chairman How To Make Money
Hello and welcome to this guide, where we will be looking at the best way to start your new Football Chairman game.
Picking the Correct Manager
This is an extremely crucial element of the start of the game as not only will the manager of your team be the leader of your team he is also the one who will controls who you buy, the training of your team and also all the matches that your team plays.
There is 3 ratings that your manager will have and they are:
- M = Matches
- C = Coaching
- T = Transfers
When picking your manager you want to look at every single stat and see who is the most balanced. DON'T GET PUT OFF A MANAGER IF HE HAS A SMALL AMOUNT OF COMPENSATION. Also do not worry about the style of the managers just yet as the players generated will be based on the manager you chose.
If the fans are unsure on a manager you can still pick him but it just means that it may take more time for the fans to buy into him meaning that less fans may come to watch matches.
Sponsorships
Sponsorships are usually not that important at the start of the game as the amount of money they offer is very low.
So as the money is very low there is absolutely no reason for you to take a sponsorship for longer than 2 years.
If I was you I wouldn't worry about the amount of money you will receive from sponsorship's until late game when they actually benefit you in a way.
Ticket Price
This is pretty much just some common knowledge but if you set the ticket prices too high the fans will no be happy and you will get less fans coming to your games what is not great at the start of the game as this is when you are trying to build up a fan base for your new club.
You also can not make your ticket prices to low as your club will not make enough money to run and if you are not careful you may end up going bust in the first few seasons.
If you go bang in the middle with £5 (or if you're reading this and in Non-League B just looking for some tips go with £8) it will provide you with a stable balance between how happy your fans are and how much profit your club will make.
Main Page
I decided to add this to the post as some players who are just starting out may not know how to find everything:
Weekend/Weekday: Fixtures
League: League Table
Money: Everything to do with Finances
Squad: Where you can find all information on your players
Manager: Where you can find out detail about manager and also where you purchase staff
Training: Where you upgrade your training facilities
Youth: Where you upgrade your youth facilities
Trophies: Where you can find what trophies you have won in the past
Achieved: Achievements
Records: Club records and Chairman records
History: Past League positions for every year.
Chairman: Your stats
Stadium: Where you can upgrade your stadium, pitch and merchandise.
Fans Happy?: How happy your fans are and where you can set your rivals
Backroom
I don't feel like you need to worry about the backroom staff to much at the start of the game as all they do is take up a lot of the wage budget while providing a small upgrade to your manager. So I would recommend to just not purchase them until you are a few seasons in.
Training/Youth Facilities
One of the most important features of the game is your facilities and it is definitely not something you should not just get when you are in a later stage of your game.
The training facilities will provide a place for your players to train so if you have a very poor training centre your players will not reach their full potential.
Just like the Training facilities the Youth facilities are just as important as if they are a low rating you will not get any good youth prospects whereas if they are at a solid rating they will provide you good young talent that will develop over the years. The best part about this is that you do not have to pay to bring the youth players up and their contracts are usually under £15.
I would definitely recommend upgrading both of them to at least 30 as this will be around the same rating as your squad and manager.
Stadium
At the start of the game you will not be packing out your 600 people stadium as sad as it sounds but it's true. So there is no reason that you should upgrade your stadium until at least the third season when you will start to be competing for promotion.
What you should do is upgrade your pitch as it will improve how your team will play at home and also if you do not upgrade it, the pitch will slowly deteriorate and your team will start to struggle at home.
Squad Analysis
Looking at my team it is clear to see that I need to sign a new midfielder, new attacker and also a new defender as there is too much of a skill gap between the best player in the team and the lowest players in the team.
For this image I have made it so you can see the style of the player and also the personality. I would not recommend keeping players that have a style that doesn't work with your manager and also a bad personality as they just do not fit in the team.
So looking at this image it tells us that we need to get a new backup/starter goalkeeper and also a new backup/starter centre back.
Just because someone has a bad style or a bad reputation doesn't mean that you have to rush into selling them as they can still do the job when needed.
As you saw my manager was playing a 4-3-3 so if your manager is playing a similar formation I would recommend having 1 less backup for every position for your reserves so you would have 1 backup keeper, 3 backup defenders, 2 backup midfielders and 2 backup attackers. (This will alter depending on the formation your manager uses)
Transfers Out
As you can see here my keeper got a bid of £500 what is decent giving we are just starting out but if you are unsure on if you want to sell him or not you should check to see if he fits into your team.
Drury clearly doesn't fit into my so it is fine to sell him.
Transfers In
There is three main points of signing a player. Their contract, their price and are they needed.
The manager is wanting to purchase this player on a free transfer but before we just go ahead and buy him we need to check to make sure he would get played.
Looking at the current midfielders it is clear to us that he would definitely get played and wouldn't be a useless signing
Now that we have decided to purchase him we need to negotiate his contract.
First off we have to check the current wages of all first team members to see how much we should give him.
The first team wages are not extremely high so you should try to get him on roughly the same amount.
Thank you for reading this article, make sure to let us know if we missed any points, if you found it helpful or anything in between!
