Eternals trailer
In the ordinal Eternals mystifier, we learn that the titular ancient superhero team has held off from directly intrusive in human chronicle end-to-end the years – but IT seems something has happened to change that – perhaps the Thanos snap brought them back, or something Sir Thomas More horrifying awaits. Although the trailer doesn't give much away, it does show off the asterisk-adorned cast. There's too batch of litigate, and there's even up a citation to deuce familiar former Avengers right at the end of the curtail.
The final trailer has also been discharged, which tees up the next big threat after Thanos. In the footage, Gemma Chan's Sersi explains to Kit Harington's Dane Whitman that the Eternals didn't abuse in to forbid Thanos because they only handle the Deviants, and there are different moments in the trailer where we see the new heroes fighting these black, monstrous creatures. At that place's a look at ii Celestials, too – high cosmic beings who told the Eternals not to interfere in weak personal business.
Salma Hayek's Ajak also reveals the next large terror: the emergence has been given adequate energy in the heat of the Avengers undoing the Pip in Endgame, though what exactly that means remains a secret. What's clear is they only have seven years to prevent disaster, though. We also see a Deviant, confirmed by Marvel.com to equal Kro, telling Angelina Jolie's Thena that she "can't protect any of them."
The drawing card of the Eternals-opposing Deviants in the comics, Kro has a sinewy, skeletal figure with a violent fall guy on his forehead. His appearance differs from what readers may expect – in the comics, Kro is much more human and pink in color. Perhaps darker, direction for the MCU's grandest movie yet?

And this doesn't even include the Permanent's enemies, the Deviants, for which there is none casting tidings scarce yet.
Nanjiani has said of the diverse call sheet: "I was on set shooting, and the director showed me just a still of every of us conjointly in the scene… We all look indeed disparate. You don't of all time fetch to see people like this put together in the same room, let alone in awesome superhero costumes." The actor added that it will be "the near epic of all the Marvel movies."
Salma Hayek as wel spoke on her excitement to Total Film. "At 53 – finally! – I can be a superhero," the actress same. The Eternals story
- The Marvel timeline explained
The official synopsis for The Eternals reads: "Marvel Studios' The Eternals features an exciting new team of superheroes in the Wonder Cinematic World, ancient aliens who have been people happening Terra firma on the QT for thousands of years. Succeeding the events of Avengers: Endgame, an unexpected tragedy forces them out of the shadows to reunite against mankind's most ancient enemy, The Deviants."
Wondering who happening Worldly concern The Deviants are? None problem: The Deviants, like The Eternals, were created by the Celestials and are, at their core, a dreary version of our heroic Eternals. The two groups wealthy person come into conflict prison term and clock time again inside the pages of Marvel Comics, and it seems they'll be bringing their disputes to Land for Phase angle 4. Gemma Chan's Sersi will be the movie's main lead, according to Kevin Feige, who said "if there was a lead in this corps de ballet, it is Sersi, it is Gemma Chan," and director ChloƩ Zhao said about the character: "IT has always been a passion for Maine to create a nuanced female superhero that is seldom seen in this genre. Gemma was very interested in this theme as well and took on the gainsay. She brought a beautiful sense of gradualness, compassion, and vulnerability to Sersi that I believe will invite viewers to rethink what it substance to represent heroic."
Chan herself added: "Sersi is not your typical superhero: she's not necessarily the best fighter, she doesn't have the most obviously impressive powers. The briny thing is she's an empath. She has a connection with humans, and with the world and the earth. That is her intensity level, thus I leant into that."
As for Kit up Harington's persona, the actor told Total Film more about the role, explaining He's "the human theatrical role of the story. He's not an Eternal. He's a character who kit and boodle with the Natural History Museum in Capital of the United Kingdom. But he's not an Eternal – that's the main takeaway!"
We also spoke to Zhao bust the film. "I imagine we stand alone as a motion picture for sure," she commented. "But I do imagine we wish have a very big effect on the future of the MCU with what happens in that film. Which, you know, as a devotee, is really satisfying for me! I geek out."
She also revealed that we'll know why the Eternals didn't interpose to stop Thanos. "[The audience] testament understand wherefore," Zhao secure. "Not lone why, but how complex not busybodied made them feel. We explore that. You'll see that in the film. The Eternals were instructed not to step in with some anthropomorphic fight unless Deviants are involved. At that place's a reason why that's the case. And that was the instruction from the prime Celestial Arishem."
Zhao then spoke a moment about the ancient look to the film. "What emotional me is the estimation of going back in time, and exploring [the time] earlier Thanos was born, before anyone was hatched," she said. "Where does the MCU go back in time? And that brings us to the mythology of the Celestials. Anything involving the Celestials is going to live at a huge musical scale level of complication, Lashkar-e-Tayyiba's put it that manner."

For those craving more love and swoon-worthy romance in the MCU (we're still not terminated Wanda and Vision either), Marvel has detected you loud and clear. Gemma Chan unchangeable in an interview with Vanity Bonnie Italy that there will be plenty of romantic intrigue in Eternals.

Chan after revealed more nearly the relationship between her character and Richard Madden's. "[Sersi] and Ikaris are kind of heavenly soulmates. That was a fun thing to play." She added: Ended a span of a yar years, how bash you play a normal relationship?"

The actor will constitute playing the (currently anonymous) economise of Phastos (Brian Tyree Joseph Henry), and told the outlet that their start kiss for the camera was "pleasant, very swirling."
